Mr. Silva's Message

		My Message to students and the community. Hello, my name is Mr. Silva. I am a product of the East Providence school system and am proud to call myself a "Townie". I whole-heartedly chose to be a Social Studies teacher, because teaching is what I love to do. I strive to work with students and colleagues in this profession to give students the superior education they deserve. My goal is to give students the best education possible. Teachers are role models and mentors, who have the ability to positively impact their students, in turn making the community we live in a better place. I take a varied approach in educating students. To become successful members of society, students must have the ability to critically think and problem solve. During today's trying times, it is essential to present students with the information necessary to make them informed about the current events that affect their lives. By engaging students with organized, well-planned, meaningful lessons, students become interested and focused on learning. If students are approached in a positive manner and shown respect, most often they reciprocate in the same manner. As a teacher, I am fully committed to being a life-long learner and a role-model for students, and I will continue to fulfill my goal to give students the best education possible.
